Wow, it’s been a month since our last post!
Our trip to Texas was such a blessed one!! The outpouring of love from our friends and family was a little slice of Heaven! We can not thank you enough for all that was said and done while we were there! The love of many filled our hearts and it was very difficult to leave. Your display of love and prayers are treasured. We love each of you!
Since we have returned, Jon had a sleep test done and finally got his AVAP machine (a noninvasive mechanical ventilation machine). His test showed that his oxygen levels were dropping into the 70’s while he slept. This was causing him to be extremely fatigued during the day. They have added oxygen to the machine and this should help him begin to feel better. His breathing has become more labored and we are hoping that this will get somewhat better as well. Our next ALS doctor visit is July 25th.
My parents arrived this week to spend several weeks helping out around the house. They have already been such a huge blessing!! Dusty will begin putting the front deck on the house next week which will allow us to attach the wheelchair lift we found while in Texas. We are still waiting on “Rebuilding Together” to see if they are going to be able to do the bathroom conversion. Please keep that in your prayers.
I put in my 6 month notice and will be staying at home beginning in January. We are hoping that we will qualify for a program in Wisconsin called “IRIS” by the first of the year. If we do, it will pay me as a caregiver. We still have details to work out, but trusting God that he will continue to meet all our needs.
We are grateful to God for everything He has done and provided thus far. We continue to give Him all the glory through this journey. And still, His Grace is Sufficient!!
2 Corinthians 12:9 – And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
